The maiden edition of Nigeria International Technology Exhibition & Conference (NITEC) scheduled to hold in Lagos will discuss the next frontier in the Nigeria information and communication technology (ICT) sector, according to the event organisers.
NITEC 2016, which is scheduled to take place by June 23-24 , 2016 under the theme, “The role of disruptive technologies in catapulting the Africa continent GDP”, has been designed to become a platform of showcasing Nigerian technology ecosystem, according to the organisers of the event, Neo Media and Marketing.
”The NITEC 2016 creates a platform where new technologies will be showcased and they can also learn about policies, market trends and other key drivers of the Nigerian ICT sector “ Mr Ehi Braimah, CEO of Neo Media and Marketing said at a press briefing to announce the event.
According to him NITEC 2016 will feature conferences, exhibitions, prize-winning games and networking sessions hoped to deliver maximum benefits to show visitors and advertisers.
“We are pleased to be producing NITEC 2016 that will become the flagship exhibitions and conference catering for the Nigeria ICT sector ”, Mr Braimah told journalists while announcing the event plans in Lagos.
Commenting on the event, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA) Jnr, founder techsmart.ng, a co-producer of the event says that there is a need for a major show that will cater for the ICT sector in Nigeria.
According to him “NITEC 2016 will gather both public and private sector to showcase, and share ideas about the next frontiers in technologies, innovation, solutions and services for the Nigerian economy.”
The event hope to reflect the diversity of decision makers in industry, government, Mobile Network Operators, Mobile Payment Service Providers, Online Shopping Services, e-Commerce Companies, among several organisations that offer services using technology
According to him, NITEC 2016 Conferences will serve as a platform for industry professionals to share ideas about market trends, policy and other issues that shape and define the Nigeria ICT sector.
