Lagos. June 30, 2012: Nokia Siemens says it has achieved data speed of 1.3 Gigabits per second (Gbps) using its commercial Flexi base station hardware in what it regards as a broadband milestone.
The company also demonstrated its 4G mobile broadband technology at China Information Technology show in Beijing where it says the record speed marks a new world record for 4G mobile broadband technology.
Adding to Nokia Siemens outstanding achievements, the company is tagged the first vendor to complete phase 1 and 2 of China Mobile (CMCC) Time-Division Long-Term Evolution (TD-LTE) field tests and leads the industry with its TD-LTE key performance indicators (KPIs).
President, Nokia Siemens Networks Greater China, Markus Borchert says “our record-breaking mobile broadband speeds, coupled with the successful completion of CMCC’s TD-LTE field tests, clearly underline Nokia Siemens Networks’ commitment to strengthen the TD-LTE ecosystem in China.”
According to him, “as the world’s specialist in mobile broadband, we will continue to drive TD-LTE innovations and commercial deployments across the globe.”
