Airtel Nigeria is helping to accelerate the nation’s digital economy aspirations, Dr Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has said on Tuesday at the groundbreaking of NXTRA, the mobile network operator’s data centre in Lagos.
“The groundbreaking ceremony of the NXTRA by Airtel Africa Data Centre in Lagos earlier today”Tijani said in a post on X, “is a welcome investment in our technology landscape and supports our ministry’s long term plans to position Nigeria as a leader in digital technology.”
According to the Minister, “Data storage and sovereignty is a significant pillar for a strong tech ecosystem and I thank the Management of @AirtelNigeria for their continued investment in Nigeria as they play their part in accelerating the growth of our digital economy.”
