Microsoft, the new owners of Nokia devices subsidiary has finally launched the first dual SIM Windows smartphone into the Nigerian market.[blockquote right=”pull-right” cite=”Debbie Shepard, Head of Marketing, Nokia West and Central Africa”]“We are thrilled to extend this innovation to Nigeria and super excited that the Lumia 630 Dual SIM is now available in Nigeria.”[/blockquote]

Following the successful acquisition of Nokia Devices and Services business unit by Microsoft, the software giant hopes the new entrant smartphone, equipped with the latest technology to allow consumers seamlessly switch between their SIMs without switching off their devices, will be a good bet for the Nigerian market.

At the Protea Hotel venue of the recent media launch held in Lagos, there was a display of different variants of the Lumia 630  sporting shades from black, yellow, orange, red to green.

Debbie Shepard, Head of Marketing, Nokia West and Central Africa, took time out to walk through the specifications of the phone to attendees which she performed by explaining each function of the mobile device and how it will be a suitable work tool for today’s mobile workforce.

The Lumia 630 comes pre-installed with many apps to get you started and thousands more available on Windows Phone Store.

It also comes with 8GB  internal storage capacity which could be expandable to 128GB with a Micro SD. The device runs on  Windows Phone 8.1, which is the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS. Nokia Lumia 630 also has a 4.50-inch 480×854 display powered by 1.2GHz processor along with 512MB RAM and 5-megapixel rear camera.

“We are thrilled to extend this innovation to Nigeria and super excited that the Lumia 630 Dual SIM is now available in Nigeria”, she added.

High point of the event was the presentation of Nokia Lumia 630 phones to winning participants in a raffle draw held at the media launch.
