Nigeria has not allowed mobile network operators to offer mobile money hoped to offer financial inclusion for the unbanked masses and people in rural and underserved areas of the country.
Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Nigeria insist that they be allowed to offer mobile money, which is restricted by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Policy to only bank and a few non-banking super agents, to foster faster uptake and wider spread of the service across the country.
