Xiaomi says its new Redmi Buds 6 Pro offers up to 36 hours of battery life when paired with the charging case, making battery performance a standout feature of the new earbuds.

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro offers 9.5 hours of playback on a single charge, and a quick five-minute charge provides two hours of playback, according to Xiaomi, the parent company of Redmi.

The earbuds, which are now available for ₦119,000 on Jiji for the global version, delivers up to 55dB active noise cancellation (ANC), enhanced sound depth, and customisable settings.

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro is certified for Hi-Res Audio Wireless and features LDAC audio codec support, enabling ultra-high-definition sound transmission. “With Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro supports UHD transmission with LDAC audio codec and ultra-lossless audio for higher audio quality,” the company says in the product release.

A notable feature is the “level-less noise cancellation technology,” which the company says adjusts noise cancellation parameters 16,000 times per second. Xiaomi describes this as “a new noise cancellation experience.”

The earbuds come equipped with a coaxial triple-driver system that includes a high-frequency piezoelectric ceramic driver and an 11mm dynamic driver with a titanium diaphragm. Xiaomi says this setup improves high-frequency loudness by 10% compared to the previous Redmi Buds 5 Pro model.

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro delivers up to 55dB active noise cancellation, with an ultra-wide frequency range of up to 4kHz. Xiaomi says this is a 40% improvement in noise cancellation depth compared to its predecessor. “Noise cancellation depth and frequency are achieved by active noise reduction technology,” Xiaomi explains. The earbuds use adaptive algorithms to optimise performance based on ear canal structure and surrounding noise levels.

A notable feature is the “level-less noise cancellation technology,” which the company says adjusts noise cancellation parameters 16,000 times per second. Xiaomi describes this as “a new noise cancellation experience.”

The earbuds come with intuitive touch controls, allowing users to adjust volume by swiping on the earbuds. Additionally, the Redmi Buds 6 Pro supports dual-device connectivity, enabling seamless switching between two devices without re-pairing. Google Fast Pair further simplifies the initial setup for Android users.

The Redmi Buds 6 Pro comes in Space Black, Glacier White, and Lavender Purple. The charging case uses a Type-C port and houses a 480mAh battery, while each earbud contains a 54mAh battery. The package includes additional ear tips (small and large), a Type-C charging cable, and a user manual.

Wireless connectivity is powered by Bluetooth 5.3 with a communication range of up to 10 meters in open spaces. The earbuds support various Bluetooth protocols, including Low Energy, HFP, A2DP, and AVRCP.

The earbuds incorporate advanced excimer coating technology for a matte, silky finish. They also feature IP54 water and dust resistance, making them suitable for daily use, although the charging case is not water-resistant. The earbuds come with an upgraded light strip to indicate battery status.

For those looking to personalise their experience, the Xiaomi Earbuds app allows users to adjust equalizer (EQ) settings and switch between noise cancellation modes. It provides “Dimensional audio” with head-tracking capabilities that enhances surround sound effects for music, games, and videos.
