After a turbulent period caused by the Galaxy Note 7, Korean mobile phone maker, Samsung has once again impressed with the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 with an infinity display.

This means the Samsung Galaxy S8 has an expanded screen size without necessarily being larger.

The Infinity display which is a pure pristine, uninterrupted glass has an incredible end-to-end screen that spills over the phone’s sides, forming a completely smooth, continuous surface with no bumps or angles. And it takes up the entire front of the phone, flowing impeccably into the aluminum shell.

The Galaxy S8 display is 5.8″ Quad HD+ Super AMOLED (2960×1440) 570 ppi. With 18.5:9 display ratios, you get the whole scene on your screen, making the Galaxy S8 the biggest, most immersive displays for Galaxy smartphones of these sizes. The bigger screen means that you can multitask efficiently. You can text while watching a movies or make a list while you browse, so it makes you scroll less while you do more.

The Galaxy S8 comes with the most advanced Octa-core (2.3GHz Quad + 1.7GHz Quad), 64 bit, 10nm processor which makes downloads, charging and switching from app to app all accomplished at an astonishing fast speed. It runs on the Android 7.0 N. It also has water and dust resistance as it features IP68-rated water and dust resistance that has always been synonymous with Galaxy phones. This translates to the phone being able to stay in 1.5 meters of fresh water for up to 30 minutes with no harm.

Battery

With 3000 mAh capacity, you are guaranteed up to 20 hours talk time, Internet use (Wi-Fi): up to 14 hrs Internet use, (3G): up to 11 hrs and Internet use (4G): up to 12 hrs. And with wireless charging and fast charging capabilities, charging the battery is also easy and convenient. It comes with USB TYPE-C meaning you can easily plug in your phone and charge without having to think if it is facing up or down.

Memory

The Galaxy S8 comes with a microSD card slot, up to 256 GB for both the single-SIM model and the dual-SIM model. It also has an internal memory of 64GB and 4GB RAM.

Camera

Both the rear and front cameras of the Galaxy S8 are built in such a way that photos come out bright and clear, even when taken at night. The S8 front camera is 8MP which has smart auto focus that track faces. The rear camera on the other hand is 12MP with dual pixel sensor which allows you take pictures that are crisp and colorful.

Security

One of the beauties of the Galaxy S8 is the priority given to privacy as Samsung ensured that effective mechanisms were put in place to protect the owner, and it is as convenient as it could ever be. Some of these security measures include iris scanning for airtight security, face recognition for unlocking your phone right away and defense-grade security that stands guard around the clock. It also has fingerprints, pattern, password and PIN.

Some of the most sensitive activities like paying with your credit or debit card and accessing bank accounts are fast, easy, and secure on your Galaxy S8 with its selection of authentication options, including biometric verification. You can also scan your irises or fingerprint to make purchases with Samsung Pay in-store, check your bank accounts via Samsung Pass, and log into your favorite sites right away with the Web sign-in feature. There is also a Secure Folder where you can keep private files and apps separately to keep them accessible only to you.

Bixby

The Galaxy S8 is bundled with an artificial intelligence enabled personal assistant feature called Bixby which remains one of the biggest additions to the phone. With Bixby, your way of using your phone can never remain the same, because you only have to open your camera or use an image to get results right away. No more typing into boxes, whether you would like to know more about a product or place, want to find a restaurant nearby, or even need to translate a document, beckon on Bixby.

Accessories

There are other accessories that complement the Galaxy S8. If you need to cover your Galaxy S8 phone, there are colorful cases available for that purpose. They include the clear view standing cover, LED view cover, Clear cover, Alcantara cover, Silicone cover, 2piece cover and Keyboard cover. They are also earphones tuned by AKG, Dex station which access files, edit documents, and stream videos on a bigger display, all at once, by connecting your Galaxy S8 to DeX Station, a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
