Ripoti aims to uphold the principles of digital freedom by documenting, responding to, and addressing digital rights violations such as blackmail, cyberbullying, online harassment, and doxxing wherever they may occur, according to its creators.

Since the launch of the Ripoti app in April 2024, a total of 23 cases have been reported through the platform, with 12 of them being verified. The information provided through the Ripoti app is handled with the utmost confidentiality and the identities of those reporting are protected, Ripoti says.

To date, PIN, the parent company of Ripoti, has a track record of actively documenting cases of digital rights violations and providing litigation support to victims. This commitment is reflected in their annual Digital Rights and Inclusion in Africa reports. Additionally, PIN has supported journalists interested in covering these violations by providing them with crucial information and has collaborated with partners to launch advocacy campaigns addressing these issues.
