Samsung Nigeria has announced that its new entry mobile device, the Galaxy S5 will be available as from today in retail outlet in Nigeria.
According to the device maker, the Galaxy S5 will be available through all authorized Samsung partner stores nationwide as well as participating telecom operators from 11.00am today. The newest members of the company’s wearable device line, the GEAR 2 and GEAR Fit, will also be available from Monday.[sh_poll poll_id=”4277611″ template_id=”5″]
Emmanouil Revmatas, Samsung’s Director of Information Technology and Mobile, said that the formal introduction of the new devices to the West African market has been scheduled to hold Wednesday this week at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos.
According to him, “a special Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) warranty cover on the GALAXY S5 will also be announced by Samsung at the launch. There will also be the GALAXY Gifts, which offers user discounts and freebies on meals, movies, books and music purchased via the Samsung Mobile ecosystem.”
The Samsung GALAXY S5 is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core processor and boasts a 5.1-inch super AMOLED display. It features an upgraded 16-megapixel camera, new fitness tracking features, a heart rate scanner, an ultra – power saving mode and is dust and water (IP67) resistant. The highlight of the smartphone is a new fingerprint scanner, which is integrated with the device’s Home button and provides consumers with a safe, biometric screen-locking feature.
