Samsung has officially announced its plan to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 in an event slated for August 2.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be unveiled in New York on August 2, 2016. Simultaneously, launch events will take place in Rio de Janeiro at noon and in London at 4.00 pm, the company said.

The company has also explained why it planned to skip the Galaxy note 6 for the Galaxy Note 7.

‘There are a couple reasons why. First, the Galaxy Note 7 will complement our Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, and unify our product portfolio”, the technology company said.

“Second, the Galaxy Note 7 will minimize confusion about the latest mobile technology from Samsung, and provide full alignment with Galaxy S smartphone”, Samsung added.
