Commercial music streaming, podcast and video service platform, Spotify has announced the acquisition of Crowd Album, a company that compiles live show photos and videos for music artists so that artists can gauge the reaction to live performance

Spotify says the acquisition of CrowdAlbum will enhance the development of products that help artists understand, activate, and monetize their audiences.

The albums give artists a visual history of their tours and help them identify and connect with their most passionate fans.

Charlie Hellman, VP Product at Spotify says that “we’re working every day to find ways to tighten the connection between artists and their fans. The CrowdAlbum acquisition is the latest way Spotify is investing in helping artists find and engage their audiences on and off Spotify, especially around the ever important business of touring.”
