Microsoft has announced that HBO subscribers can now enjoy HBO NOW streaming services on Xbox One and Xbox 360 via HBO NOW app.
The software company says that this new development will give HBO subscribers instant access to all HBO’s library of compelling series, unforgettable movies, though-provoking documentaries, thrilling sport programmes and entertaining comedy and music specials, adding that subscribers should simply authenticate their existing HBO NOW account on their Xbox console to enjoy the new feature.
In addition, Microsoft says HBO is also offering all Xbox users the opportunity to watch the “Game of Thrones” season 6 premiere after its April 24 premiere. The episode will be available on Xbox One and Xbox 360 to both HBO and non-HBO subscribers giving Xbox users a chance to watch the debut episode.
“We’re thrilled to give HBO NOW subscribers easy access to all that HBO has to offer through their Xbox console. Xbox has proven to be a favorite platform for HBO audiences to stream their beloved HBO shows and movies, and we are excited about this next big step in our partnership”, Jeff Dallesandro, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Digital Distribution and Business Development, HBO says.
“If you aren’t a current HBO NOW subscriber, you’re missing out; HBO’s current slate of original programming includes award-winning series like ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Veep’, ‘Girls’, and ‘Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. And you can also watch full seasons of HBO’s classic shows, such as ‘True Blood’, ‘The Wire’, and ‘The Sopranos’, Dallesandro adds.
HBO NOW subscribers should authenticate their HBO NOW account, or sign up for a one-month introductory trial which then rolls into a monthly $14.99 subscription, Microsoft says.
