Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos, will this tomorrow play host to renowned names and brands in the technology ecosystem when the pioneering edition of TECH+ Conference and Exhibitions gets underway at the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.
The two-day event which industry leaders have described as ‘historic and unprecedented’ will hold on July 24 and 25 will highlight the special appeal of technology in the daily interactions of man. It is powered by telecoms giant, MTN Communications Nigeria Limited in conjunction with several other brands in the technology ecosystem.

Notable personalities that will be sharing valuable insights on a wide variety of topics include Jim McKelvey (co-founder of Square), Wael Fakharany (Google X Middle East and Africa), Nicolas Martin, CEO, Jumia Africa and Mike Ikpoki, Managing Director, MTN Nigeria Communications Limited.

About the Speakers
Michael Ikpoki, the Managing Director of Nigeria’s Telecommunications giant, MTN Nigeria is a well-known name in the sector. A strong character and visionary leader of note, he brings to the Conference his rich bouquet of experience from driving the MTN brand along the path of market leadership. He will be speaking on Leadership in Digital Technology in the Conference welcome address.
With decades of success as an engineer and entrepreneur under his belt, Jim McKelvey will be sharing on the topic “The Shark Instinct: How Entrepreneurs Smell Opportunity” in the opening Plenary Session on day 1. He is an astute entrepreneur who has tasted both sides of entrepreneurship; he currently sits successfully on the board of several companies some of which he co-founded among which include Square, Inc., Mira, Inc., Third Degree, LLC., Lockerdome, LLC and Kabbage, Inc. Alongside Michael Ikpoki, Managing Director, MTN Nigeria, he will also be leading a panel discussion on How Entrepreneurs Smell Opportunity.

 

Wael Fakharany is the Regional Business Lead Google [X] for Middle East and Africa (MEA). He is the leader of the managing team of Google X, a secret laboratory at Google saddled with the responsibility to research and develop ground-breaking new technologies that may be deployed in solving problems.
His repertoire of knowledge in managing technology business, especially in the Middle East spans over 20 years.   He will be speaking on “Product Development The Google Way” and also lead with MTN Nigeria’s Aisha Umar Mumuni the discussion panel on Product Development.
