The impressive performance also reveals that the Technology Times online asset recorded relatively higher audience engagements compared to several Nigerian news websites.
Commenting on the Q1 2015 performance, Founder/Group CEO, Technology Times Media Limited, owners of Technology Times website, Mr. Shina Badaru, expressed appreciation to loyal and devoted readers in Nigeria, Africa and beyond “for letting us remain their technology news destination of choice on the Internet.”
According to him, the record performance was the outcome of the massive revamp, upgrade and optimization started by the company in Q4 2014 on the flagship Technology Times to foster leadership in innovative delivery of breaking news and information from inside the Nigerian information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
“We have further revamped and upgraded Technology Times to be the leading destination for Nigerian technology news by adopting a digital first news delivery model and optimization into a multi-delivery platform for the web, mobile, tablet, print and other emerging platforms”, he said.
According to the Group CEO of Technology Times, “by tracking the changing news consumption trends of our growing and loyal audience base in Nigeria and beyond, we constantly hone strategies to stay ahead of the industry’s curve by evolving Technology Times into a multi-platform channel for our diverse audience demographics that also offers enhanced opportunities for our advertisers.”
Commenting further, he adds that, “we get asked by people what has been our secret for maintaining leadership in delivery of Nigerian technology news. We tell them the secret is in our sharp focus on exploring the Nigerian technology industry with intelligence, originality and authority. We have sustained our founding principles of adherence to journalistic principles of fact, balance, objectivity, editorial supervision and fact-checking.”
Over the next few months, Technology Times Media Limited, publishers of the Technology Times print and online titles, is assessing new opportunities to deliver value to its stakeholders, he adds.
“We are acquiring a range of digital assets and assessing new strategic alternatives including the launch of a full-gloss monthly magazine by mid-2015 to maximize the value of our businesses to stakeholders ecosystem cutting across our readers, team members including existing and new shareholders”, Badaru added.
