By Shina Badaru,

Founder & Chairman,

Digital Transformation Media Limited (DTML).

It is with great joy, a sense of history, and profound responsibility that I announce today, Monday, September 1, 2025, the official launch of eGovernance Nigeria Magazine, a bold new addition to the Technology Times family of media properties. The unveiling of our newest publication marks not just the start of a magazine but the birth of a movement—a dedicated voice to document, spotlight, and celebrate the digital transformation journeys of Nigeria’s government institutions, states, ministries, and agencies as they embrace technology to serve the people of our great nation better.

For us at Digital Transformation Media Limited (DTML), the proud owners of the Technology Times brand, the debut of eGovernance Nigeria represents yet another article of faith in our mission: to showcase Nigeria’s growing contributions to the global technology industry. Since our founding in 2004, we have believed passionately that technology is not merely about gadgets, networks, or platforms; it is fundamentally about people—their dreams, their opportunities, and their ability to participate in the promise of a digital world. With eGovernance Nigeria, we are now extending that mission into the critical space where government, governance, and technology intersect.

Why eGovernance Nigeria Magazine?

Across the length and breadth of our nation, something transformational is taking place. Federal ministries are digitising services once locked behind paper walls. State governments are rolling out online portals to bring healthcare, education, agriculture, and justice closer to citizens. Regulatory agencies are modernising oversight with digital tools. Local councils are experimenting with mobile payments for community levies. What ties all these together is a single thread: governance is going digital.

Yet, amid this transformation, there has been no dedicated platform that consistently tells the stories of Nigeria’s eGovernance revolution—until now.

eGovernance Nigeria Magazine is stepping into that gap as the nation’s only publication focusing on digital transformation. We are committed to shining a light on innovations, lessons, and challenges that define this new era of governance. Our editorial mission is clear: to identify, spotlight, and showcase digital transformation across Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), states, and institutions offering services to the people of Nigeria. We will track the change-makers, amplify their impact, and also hold up a mirror where challenges must be confronted.

The brand philosophy: The Voice of Digital Transformation

Our chosen tagline, The Voice of Digital Transformation, is no coincidence. It is a deliberate commitment to position the magazine as a trusted, authoritative, and inclusive platform.

For citizens, we will be a guide to understand how government digitisation affects their daily lives—from renewing a driver’s licence online to accessing agricultural subsidies via mobile.

For policymakers, we will be a resource to share innovations, learn from best practices, and understand what works and what doesn’t.

For the private sector and development partners, we will be a bridge to connect with government projects and opportunities in the eGovernance ecosystem.

For the international community, we will be a window into how Africa’s largest democracy is harnessing technology to serve its people.

The phased launch plan

We are deliberately unveiling eGovernance Nigeria in phases, each designed to build momentum, engage audiences, and deliver value.

Phase 1: Website Launch (September 1, 2025)

At noon today, we cut the digital ribbon on www.egovernance.ng, the official website of eGovernance Nigeria Magazine. The site will serve as the hub of our coverage, featuring premium articles, features, and analyses that capture the ongoing digital transformation across Nigeria. For the first month of launch, all premium content will be freely available so that audiences across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond can experience firsthand the depth and quality of our journalism.

At the heart of the website is the eGovernance Community—a premium membership programme that visitors are invited to join from today. Membership offers access to exclusive webinars, research insights, networking events, and a range of benefits designed to build a knowledge-driven community around governance and digital transformation.

Phase 2: Digital and Hybrid Edition Launch (September 8, 2025)

One week from today, on Monday, September 8, 2025, we will roll out the digital edition of eGovernance Nigeria Magazine. Designed in a hybrid format, it will be available both as a richly designed print product and as a dynamic digital-first magazine. This hybrid approach reflects our belief that impactful journalism must meet audiences wherever they are—whether on their smartphones, laptops, or at traditional reading tables.

As we move past our launch month, we will roll out more phases of engagement, including webinars, live events, policy roundtables, and multimedia storytelling. Each of these steps will deepen our mission of spotlighting Nigeria’s digital transformation story.

Value Proposition: Why eGovernance Nigeria Matters For Readers

Our readers are the lifeblood of this project. They will gain:

  • Access to investigative and explanatory journalism that demystifies government digital initiatives.
  • Stories that humanise technology by showing how digital services change everyday lives.
  • Guides, explainers, and practical tips on navigating digital government services.
  • Opportunities to participate in discussions and webinars that place them at the centre of Nigeria’s digital journey.

For Advertisers and Partners

We recognise that advertisers and partners are seeking trusted platforms that reach influential, technology-savvy, and policy-focused audiences. eGovernance Nigeria offers:

  • A premium, hybrid media platform spanning print, digital, and multimedia.
  • Targeted audiences that include government decision-makers, development partners, corporate executives, and everyday citizens.
  • Opportunities to position brands alongside credible journalism that shapes national conversations.
  • Exclusive event sponsorship opportunities that connect directly with stakeholders driving Nigeria’s digital governance agenda.

For Development Journalism

Perhaps most importantly, eGovernance Nigeria will embody a model of development journalism. Our editorial approach will ensure inclusive coverage of all parts of the country, from the major urban centres to rural communities often overlooked in mainstream narratives. Every Nigerian deserves to see their story in the unfolding digital transformation, and we are committed to making that happen.

The Technology Times Legacy

The launch of eGovernance Nigeria builds on the strong legacy of Technology Times, Nigeria’s most trusted technology news platform. For over two decades, Technology Times has served as a trusted source of news, analysis, and insights into the nation’s technology ecosystem. With its global readership and authoritative coverage, Technology Times has been a pioneer in chronicling Nigeria’s digital journey.

Adding eGovernance Nigeria is a natural progression—a complementary brand that deepens our focus on the intersection of governance and technology. Together, these brands reinforce DTML’s mission of showcasing Nigeria’s growing contributions to the global technology industry.

Another variant of the eGovernance Nigeria Magazine is presented above. Adding eGovernance Nigeria is a natural progression—a complementary brand that deepens our focus on the intersection of governance and technology. Together, these brands reinforce DTML’s mission of showcasing Nigeria’s growing contributions to the global technology industry.

As I reflect on our journey at DTML, I am reminded that each of our projects—whether Technology Times or now eGovernance Nigeria—is more than a business venture. They are articles of faith in the promise of our nation, in the creativity of our people, and in the transformative power of technology.

Our promise is a bond

In launching eGovernance Nigeria, we are deeply aware of the responsibility that comes with the task. Nigeria’s digital governance story is not merely about software or systems—it is about people. It is about a farmer in Zamfara accessing new markets through e-wallets, a student in Kano registering for exams online, a trader in Lagos paying levies with mobile money, or a patient in Enugu scheduling a hospital appointment digitally.

These stories inspire hope, and they also demand accountability. For every success, there are also challenges: digital divides, connectivity gaps, literacy barriers, and governance bottlenecks. Our role will be to tell both sides with honesty, fairness, and a commitment to solutions.

At the heart of Digital Transformation Media Limited’s (DTML) journey lies the unwavering dedication of its team, whose passion for truth, innovation and excellence continues to drive the success of our media brands. These committed men and women, who bring together decades of experience in journalism, digital innovation, strategy, design and multimedia storytelling, remain the true pillars of our mission. They are the ones who ensure that every article, broadcast, and digital edition not only informs but also inspires, educates and empowers our diverse audiences across Nigeria, Africa and beyond. Their resilience and creativity are the engine that makes our vision of showcasing Nigeria’s role in the global technology industry a living, breathing reality.

As we embark on the exciting journey of launching eGovernance Nigeria Magazine, this committed team stands ready to exceed expectations in the execution of our mission ahead. They are not just professionals doing their jobs — they are visionaries, collaborators and custodians of a legacy that bridges media excellence with national development. In a world where audiences increasingly demand accuracy, depth and innovation, DTML’s team is poised to raise the bar, crafting stories that matter, building platforms that connect, and amplifying voices that must be heard. Their collective dedication is the assurance that our audiences, advertisers and partners can count on us to deliver on the promise of “The Voice of Digital Transformation” with integrity, impact and a human touch.

As I reflect on our journey at DTML, I am reminded that each of our projects—whether Technology Times or now eGovernance Nigeria—is more than a business venture. They are articles of faith in the promise of our nation, in the creativity of our people, and in the transformative power of technology.
