It promised a top prize of N100, 000 as well as Tecno Phantom smartphone, branded umbrellas, T-shirts, water bottles and pens.

Media reports have cited that Tecno claims that the Nigerian share accounts for about 50 per cent of its African market business where the Chinese company is a growing player with devices packing features but offered at relatively pocket-friendly prices compared to bigger rivals.

Tecno Nigeria was quoted as saying that the company sold about 12 million units of its phones in the country last year, a big leap from about 335,000 units sold in 2008 when it started its African market foray.
