Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, has described artificial intelligence (AI) as a crucial force in Nigeria’s digital transformation.
Speaking at the Global Inclusivity and AI: Africa conference, the Minister notes that AI is not just another tech trend but “a significant catalyst for the change the country needs for its digital transformation agenda.”
AI provides Nigeria with a chance to bypass traditional development barriers and unlock new growth opportunities, Tijani tells attendees at the event.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) says in a statement that the event was attended by Senator Salisu Shuaib Afolabi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime; NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa; Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone; and Olasunkanmi Alake, Lagos State Commissioner for Science, Innovation, and Technology, among others.
