President Bola Tinubu today picked his former Special Adviser on Technology, Engineer Bisoye Coker-Odusote, to take charge of Nigeria’s key Federal ID management agency, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
Engr Coker-Odusote, who will serve as NIMC’s Acting Director-General/CEO replaces Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz with effect from August 24, 2023, after the President directed the latter to proceed on 90-day pre-retirement leave leading to his eventual retirement from service by November 24, 2023.
After the expiration of Engr Aziz’s pre-retirement leave, Engr Coker-Odusote will begin a full term of four years as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO, beginning on November 24, 2023, Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity says in a statement seen by Technology Times.
Engr Coker-Odusote, a former Special Adviser to Bola Tinubu on Technology, also served as CEO of the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA); former APC National Database Project Director, and former Head IT and Communications, Bate Liwin, among others.
Furthermore, President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to serve as the Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). This follows the recent expiration of tenure of the former DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi.
This appointment takes immediate effect, the statement says.
