President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that technology and innovation are vital to achieving sustainable development, as he outlines Nigeria’s vision for addressing environmental challenges through advanced solutions.
Speaking at the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025 on the theme “From Climate Imperatives to Economic Prosperity: Bringing Africa Into the Future of Global Energy,” Tinubu outlines the country’s efforts to embrace sustainable practices.

President Tinubu also sees artificial intelligence (AI) transforming agriculture, pointing to Nigeria’s favourable arable land as an opportunity for advanced farming techniques. “We are finding new, innovative ways to address environmental challenges, ensuring a brighter future through artificial intelligence,” he adds.
“Harnessing technology and innovation is key to driving sustainable development. Nigeria is increasingly adopting clean energy solutions, water conservation practices, land restoration, and waste management technologies,” Tinubu says.

Tinubu adds that achieving sustainability and curbing climate change requires stronger international cooperation.
