Tips: Protect your banking details from fraudsters

Fraudsters are always on the prowl to take advantage of unsuspecting bank customers.

They use various means to trick bank account holders to reveal their security banking details.

Be aware that your bank will never request for your personal or security details through any of its staff over the phone, through emails, text messages and any other electronic medium, banks have always warned.

But a sizeable number of bank customers using online and other alternative electronic channels often fall prey to the antics of fraudsters.

As a standard safety precaution, always ensure that you do not divulge your banking security details such as debit or prepaid card personal identification number (PIN).

Same goes for your Internet banking login details (username and password); Internet and mobile banking security or test question; mobile banking login details, passcode, token code, email username and password.

Your security banking details are your personal information and should not be divulged to any third party, else you risk losing your hard-earned money to fraudsters.
