The University of Lagos Management has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yokogawa Nigeria Limited, a Japanese electrical engineering and software company, to develop a learning platform for students of the institution.
The MoU is aimed at providing a platform for Unilag students to gain practical exposure on the latest trends in information technology, according to the University.
Professor Rahamon Bello, the Vice Chancellor of the University signed the MoU on September 4, 2014 at the Senate House in Unilag.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor expressed profound appreciation for the laudable project packaged by Yokogowa Nigeria Limited. Professor Bello noted that the collaboration would be mutually-rewarding.
In his reaction, Kazuo Hiraki, the Managing Director of Yokogawa Nigeria thanked the University’s Management for collaborating with his company.
He expressed optimism that the training which would be provided under the MoU would enhance the experience of students of the University.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by top management staff of the University including Professor Babajide Alo, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Research); Professor Fakilede, Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Professor Oluwole Adegbenro, Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics and Barrister Olusegun Dada who represented Mrs. Olufunke Akinsode of the Legal Services Unit.
