The recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that same-sex couples across the United States have a right to marry is spiking searches on Google.
There were more than 2 million searches for the term “gay marriage” alone as at Friday last week, according to the search engine giant.
Top related searches after the judgment include “gay marriage,” “LGBT meaning,” “Supreme Court,” ‘love wins,” “marriage equality,” among others. Interest goes beyond the United States with searches for answers to questions such as “What countries allow same-sex marriage?” and “where is gay marriage legal?” among the top questions.
