Social media network, Twitter says its videos on Twitter has been updated with new features that lets users post videos up to 140 seconds long.

Previously, uploaded videos were limited to 30 seconds on Twitter but with the update, users will have more room to unleash their creativity on the social media platform, Twitter says adding that anyone can now create video tweets up to 140 seconds long.

Select publishers will continue to be able to post videos up to 10 minutes long through the company’s professional publisher tools.

This update which is currently available on Twitter for iOS and Twitter for Android will be coming soon to Twitter for Mac and Twitter for Windows, as well, the company says adding that soon, users may also begin to see longer videos on Vine.

Explaining how the potential update to Vine will work, Twitter says starting with a small group, creators will be able to add a video up to 140 seconds to their Vine, turning the six second Vine into a trailer for a bigger story.

The social network provider further noted that the company is also making it easier to explore the amazing videos everyone’s tweeting about with new features to enable users “see more videos”.

Explaining how the potential “see more videos” update works, the company says that tapping on a video tweet or Vine on user’s timeline will take the user to a new, full-screen viewing experience, where more great video and Vine Tweets will be suggested below.
