Lagos. December 5, 2012: VConnect- Nigeria’s local search engine and leading information service provider has unveiled a new-look website amid its milestone 500,000 business listings.

VConnect Global Services Limited says it is set to change the game once again in the Nigerian technology industry in Nigeria with the new website that was recently launched.

The new site provides a fresh look and user-friendly experience that enables users to search for information faster and more accurately than ever before.

Previously users were only able to search businesses based on products or services but the new website now allows them to search businesses via products, services, brands and categories, the company said in a statement.

Deepankar Rustagi, General Manager, VConnect Global Services Limited, says the company has achieved two remarkable milestones.

According to him, “firstly, in a country of majorly unorganized database, VConnect has grown to a database of more than 500,000 organized businesses and secondly a makeover of its website with a much faster and optimized performance.”

This newly launched site will give a better resolution and faster results on both computers and smart phone devices with more friendly interface for the users and there has been a drastic increase in the number of users connecting due to these improvements.

“We have taken feedback from the users based on their local needs to improve and optimize our services. VConnect’s new Mobile app also caters for large segment of smart phone users. This app is compatible with both blackberry and android devices. The location-based services also help users to find nearby businesses that meet their needs instantly. Furthermore, the SMS Search service can be used by the over 100 million Nigerians who own mobile phones.” he adds.

Rustagi says that after achieving 500,000 businesses milestone and attaining top 10 Nigerian Site Ranking by Alexa; VConnect has also become Africa’s largest database of verified businesses. VConnect has organized over 100 Business forums so far.

Through these business forums, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) can interact with their target audience within their locality.
