Windows 10 also outpaces Windows 7 by nearly 140% and Windows 8 by nearly 400%, accounting for 67% of all Store downloads across PC and tablet in December, according to Microsoft.

“While it’s early yet, the promise of Windows 10 is beginning to pay off. Over the holiday selling season, we saw a 2 times increase in the number of paid transactions from PC and tablet customers over last year”, according to the US tech company.

”Based on our records, Games was the most popular category with over 30% downloads, while Utilities & Tools and Photo & Video rounded up the top three with 15% and 8% share, respectively.”
