Smile Communications Nigeria says its newly-launched 4G LTE SIM in Nigeria market rings hope for deeper broadband penetration across the country.
At the Reagent Luxury Hotel Lagos, venue of the official launch of the service, Mr Godfrey Efeurhobo, Managing Director at Smile Nigeria says the new product will complement Nigeria’s Broadband Plan envisioned to deliver faster Internet services across the country.
Apart from that, the tech company is promising an unrivaled user experience for Nigerian Internet subscribers as the new service promises “high-quality, reliable, super fast broadband access, voice and SMS using the 4G LTE technology.”
According to him, the new starter pack 0702SMIlLE came to ”redefine service quality and standard in the Nigerian telecommunication sector.”
Efeurhobo recalls to attendees at the launch event that Smile recently introduced a number of voice and data services and is reinforcing its 0702 number range with recent introduction of “the lowest call tariff that allows its customers to make calls at 8kobo per second to any network from within and outside the country.”
According to hime, “Nigerian consumers will enjoy super clear voice calls on SMILE Network at lowest call rates in the market and also enjoy Super fast Internet experience such as video/music streaming/downloads and SMSs, all using one Smile bundle plan, which is a first in this market.”

Dr Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi, Chairman of Smile Communication Nigeria says the company is a telecoms network and service provider that is dedicated to providing high-quality, reliable, super fast broadband access, voice and SMS using the 4G LTE technology.
“Our goal was to make Nigerians get and gain more from telecommunication services. This inspired our deployment of the 4G LTE, which revolutionized the way Nigerians access the Internet and communicate with families and friends, home and abroad,” he says.
In just three years of operation, the company has acquired a reputation as an innovative organization, and one devoted to greater appreciation of its customers ‘pain points’, the Chairman of Smile says.
Insights gained from positive institutional orientation have helped in scaling up the company’s innovation and creativity, he adds.
For instance, Smile Communications Limited provided a reliable connection for web surfing, online movie and music downloads, HD Video streaming and super clear voice calls at the lowest call rate across all networks, which hitherto was a challenge, according to the Smile Chairman.
“Smile Communications is the only telecommunications service provider in Nigeria that offers voice calls and SMS from one data plan. Our call rate is as low as 8kobo per second, on the SmileVoice only plan and lowest call rate when our customers make calls home from anywhere in the world. These propositions further reaffirm our status as a customer-centric organisation,” Azudialu-Obiejesi.
To drive forward its growth, the tech company is on an aggressive network expansion drive, which will see it covering all cities in a very short period and ensuring that more Nigerians will have access to Smile’s super fast and super reliable 4th Generation Long-Term Evolution (4G LTE) broadband services, Azudialu-Obiejesi adds.
Highlight of the event was unveiling of Steve Onu alias Yaw, a popular and versatile On Air Personality(OAP) as brand ambassador to Smile Nigeria.

According to Smile, the choice of Yaw, a versatile Radio/TV personality, is coherent with its values for innovation, creativity, versatility and values of reliability, respect and service.
Smile Communication Nigeria says its services are now in key Nigerian cities that include Ibadan, Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, Kaduna, Asaba and Onitsha.
