Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi 14C to expand its Redmi series with a smartphone it promises will deliver impressive performance and features at an affordable price.
The Redmi 14C features a 6.88 inch Dot Drop Display which Xiaomi says is “the largest on Redmi number series to date,” offering a vibrant and immersive viewing experience for media consumption, gaming, and multitasking.
The smartphone is powered by a substantial 5160mAh battery, and Xiaomi claims the device can provide up to 22 hours of video playback on a single charge. The device also supports 18W fast charging.

The smartphone is equipped with MediaTek’s low end Helio G81-Ultra processor. This processor, announced on August 30, is a new version of MediaTek’s G80. The MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra is an 8-core chipset that is manufactured using a 12-nanometer process technology.
According to Xiaomi, “the new MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra features low power consumption and high performance. With its outstanding capabilities, it offers longer battery life, less lagging and an exceptional user experience.” The Redmi 14C supports the following storage options: 4GB + 128GB, 4GB + 256GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, providing plenty of space for apps, photos, and videos.
The device features a 50MP main camera for capturing high-quality photos and a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. Additionally, it supports various camera modes and features, such as portrait mode, night mode, and time-lapse photography.
For connectivity, the newest member of the Redmi series offers dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB-C port. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick and secure unlocking, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers for immersive audio.
The smartphone is available in Midnight Black, Sage Green, Dreamy Purple and Starry Blue, and ranges from ₦145,920 to ₦174,600, based on the storage configurations. The smartphone is widely-available across Nigeria through authorised retailers and online channels, Xiaomi.
