ZTE Corporation says it will on Wednesday launch will its Time Division Duplexing Plus (TDD+), a 4.5G mobile communications technology based on LTE TDD.
The company announced that it will launch its Time Division Duplexing Plus (TDD+) solution at Mobile World Congress taking place in Shanghai, China on July 15. The TDD+ is a 4.5G mobile communications technology based on LTE TDD.
In order to accommodate the explosive growth of HD video, online gaming and cloud storage, network users require significantly larger bandwidth, which has resulted in the second wave of global 4G network deployment.
“With the increasing speeds of commercial networks and numbers of subscribers exceeding industry expectations, the ability to provide access rates of Gbps has become a necessity of today’s networks and, as a result, operators are now confronted with ever-increasing levels of traffic. Instead of waiting for the arrival of 5G communications, operators must enhance their network capabilities based on existing system and devices”, the tech company says.
According to the Chinese equipment supplier, the ZTE TDD+ provides a five-time performance improvement over traditional TDD, re-defining spectrum efficiency, peak rates and offering improved user experience. It leverages the main components of TDD+ including Massive Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO), Multi User Shared Access (MUSA), Ultra-Dense Network (UDN), 256 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD)-TDD joint operation, Machine Type Communication (MTC), D-CoMP+ and more.
