Nigeria Police is test-running its Police-VGS app developed to combat crimes in the country.
Nigeria Police says the Police-VGS App that is yet to be released for public use is undergoing a test operation and will let the it leverage technology in combating crime in Nigeria, according to an official statement released on Twitter.
“The Police-VGS App is part of broader technological tools being deployed by the Nigeria Police to smartly combat crimes in the country”, the Police says.
Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, Inspector-General of Police, will soon launch the Police-VGS app after the test run of the technology has been completed, according to the statement.
The law enforment agency says the Police-VGS App is one of several channels including social media platforms like its official Twitter account, Facebook Page and other channels it is using to connect the public and fight crime.
